Types of Writing

1.    Academic Writing

It is a type of writing which is used by or for the people in academic institutions. It includes research papers, thesis, and systematic reviews etc. It has various aims viz. informing readers, gather information, offering evidence for an argument, and evaluation of existing viewpoint. It entails definite steps: abstract, introduction, literature review, body, conclusion and references. An effective academic document contains and meets all the aforementioned components and objectives respectively.

2.    Business Writing

This type of writing is used for effective communication in business community. It consists of emails, proposals, reports and memos. It aims at message convey, statistics assessment, and submission of one’s credentials. It consists of enticing statement, body, and call to actions etc. A dossier with all these elements not only shows professionalism but also increase efficacy of the businesses.

3.    Descriptive Writing

It portrays an image among the minds of readers about what the writer want to say. It includes manifestation of a topic statement with facts and figures. It consists of various parts introduction, body and conclusion. A document with all the aforementioned parts paints a picture with evidence in the mind of readers.

4.    Narrative Writing

It is a type of writing that includes a start, interval and end. It is story telling form of writing. It entails stories, biographies and anecdotes. It entails manifestation of an event in a sequenced way that grabs intention of the readers. A content with all these elements helps to stick readers to the place of the content.

 

5.    Copywriting

This type of writing is used to cajole readers to take a specific action that writers want to get. It aims at generating sales for businesses and get targeted goals of an organization. A proficient copywriting includes a grabbing statement, market research based customer’s needs and worries, solution of customers problems, and persuading call to action statement. A well-crafted copywriting laced with all the aforementioned components efficiently achieve the targets.
